We have opened our recreation centers and facilities for socially distanced activities to USC Students, Staff/Faculty, Alumni, and Guests with active membership.
Uytengsu Aquatic Center Outdoor Pools, Cromwell Field, and Lyon Center Racquetball Court still require a reservation prior to use. You may only make one reservation per day, per venue. For example, you can reserve a spot for lap swim in the afternoon and reserve a spot to run at Cromwell Field in the evening later that day.
All facilities will require a membership purchase except for currently enrolled students. Membership purchases can be completed online on our portal, myrecsports.usc.edu, or in person at any of our facilities.

Per university announcement on 03/04/2022:
Beginning March 7, masking will no longer be required indoors in most locations on USC campuses. This includes classrooms, labs, offices, libraries, recreational facilities, dining facilities, and athletic facilities.
Local, state, and federal guidance requires continued masking in health care facilities (including patient care buildings and testing sites) and on public transportation (including USC shuttles). Masking may also be required in certain circumstances, like in the event of an outbreak on campus.
Although we are following the CDC and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health in removing masking as a requirement, we want to be clear that masks will continue to be welcome on campus for all those who wish to continue taking extra precautions. According to the County’s guidelines, although masking is no longer required indoors, it remains strongly recommended.
Yes. To access all Rec Sports Facilities, students and staff/faculty are required to complete their daily Trojan Check and all associated requirements including completing COVID training through Trojan Learn (students and employees), receiving an influenza vaccine, completing a daily wellness assessment, and complying with Covid Vaccination or Testing Policies.
Your Trojan Check sign-in screen will indicate if your compliance is current, or the reason(s) it may be deactivated.
No Entry is allowed without a current Trojan Check displayed and you will be considered a no-show if you cannot display upon arrival. Having a scheduled test is not acceptable to be considered compliant.
You also must be prepared to show photo ID.
Please note that all guest and alumni members must be prepared to complete the following to comply with Trojan Check as well:
Guests and visitors aged 12 and older should be prepared to show proof of vaccination to enter campus. Either a physical CDC-issued vaccine card, or a digital copy (available from the State of California here) will be accepted. This proof must be accompanied by a photo ID.
The mandate requires that individuals are fully vaccinated, which means that two weeks must have passed after the second dose of a two-dose series, or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
As an alternative, guests or visitors who have a medical or religious objection to obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination may produce a negative COVID-19 test taken in the past 72 hours, together with a photo ID.
Towel service is currently available at all facilities! Towels can be rented for $1 a day or $20 for the semester.
Yes, showers are open and open shower bays are operating at 50% capacity.
Yes, limited equipment rentals and sales will begin March 1, 2022. Visit the Pro Shops at each facility for item availability.
Reservations for recreation spaces can only be made 48 Hours in advance.
Reservations can be cancelled by logging into you account on our portal, myrecsports.usc.edu. Be sure to cancel at least 2 hours in advance if you do not intend to utilize the reservation.
While masks are not required for outdoor venues, we ask that attendees, vaccinated or unvaccinated, consider wearing them for their own protection and the protection of others. Access to indoor venues for locker rooms and restrooms will require a mask be worn. Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask whenever they cannot maintain a 6’ physical distance from those outside of their household. Anyone refusing to comply with health and safety protocols are subject to removal from the event. To notify the university of a positive case of COVID-19, please call 213-740-6291 or email covid19@usc.edu.
