2021 Program update

Due to USC's policy regarding community events, our in-person summer programming has not been approved to resume.  We are anticipating a strong return in the summer of 2022.

The University of Southern California, Recreational Sports department are the proud sponsors of USC Trojan Kids Camp, which is a continuation of the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP).   We target the following specific needs – educate the youth about healthy lifestyle through active participation in sports, proper nutrition, safety and we’ve added an academic component.  Trojan Kids Camp program takes place during the summer in the month of July unless the university has a major project and we have to adjust the dates.  The activities include but are not limited to the following:  swimming, basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, tennis, martial arts, dance, group exercise classes and track events just to name a few.

The goal is to provide a sound and firm foundation in the minds of our youth to have an active lifestyle and maintain a healthy and balanced diet.  A healthy body leads to a healthy mind, which opens up the desires for higher education.  Trojan Kids Camp each year sets out to enroll up to 225 participants.

Trojan Kids Camp is a proud recipient of the USC Good Neighbors Grant Program.  Trojan Kids Camp focuses on our youth between the ages of 9-15 years of age.  Each camper is provided with a FREE snack and lunch each day and is given one FREE camp T-shirt.

After School Sports Connection (ASSC)

The University of Southern California, Recreational Sports department are the proud sponsors of yet another program called, After School Sports Connection (ASSC), which is a part of the overall USC Family Schools (USC-FS) community outreach effort.  ASSC offers after-school sports instruction to students in third through fifth grades (8-11 years of age) at the following USC-FS schools: Norwood Street Elementary, 32nd Street, L.B. Weemes Elementary, Foshay Learning Center and Vermont Avenue, plus the two Catholic schools, St. Agnes and St. Vincent.

At this time, ASSC is under construction and the date has not been set for the new year.
